We are happy to let you know that you can connect your Garmin device to WalkFit by syncing your activity data through Garmin Connect and Health Connect.
To ensure your steps and other activity metrics are tracked correctly, you first need to pair your Garmin device with the Garmin Connect app and then allow Garmin Connect to share its data with Health Connect. We recommend granting all available permissions to ensure the most accurate and seamless data synchronization.
To set up this integration, please follow these steps:
- Connect your Garmin device to your Android phone:
- Download the Garmin Connect app from the Google Play Store.
- Make sure both Garmin Connect and Health Connect are updated to the latest version. (On Android 14 and later, Health Connect is built into your device's system settings.)
- Open the Garmin Connect app and sign in to your Garmin account, or create one if needed.
- Pair your Garmin watch or fitness tracker with your phone via Bluetooth.
- Allow Garmin Connect to sync with Health Connect:
- Open the Garmin Connect app.
- Tap the More (☰) menu in the bottom-right corner.
- Go to Settings → Health Connect.
- Enable the permissions for Steps and all other available activity data. We recommend turning on all available permissions, then tap Allow.
- Verify your Health Connect permissions:
- Open the Health Connect app.
- On newer Android devices, you can also access it via Settings → Apps → Health Connect.
- Tap App permissions.
- Select Garmin Connect.
- Make sure all relevant data categories are enabled.
